JD Koekemoer Long ride July 12, 2016

This was taken in the booze fridge at Makro in Woodmead, and it was on the day when we used to do our "long route" around to my wife's work. It was a particular hot day, so the fridge was a welcome relief. My boy and I would normally always stop at Wimpy to get an ice cream, and mom was never the wiser, it was just something he and I would do together.
Right now as I write this, it has been 381 days from when he left us, and I just can't seem to stop the tears, I miss my boy so much.
JD Koekemoer Game of Thrones April 19, 2016

We heard that the "Iron Throne" from "Game of Thrones" was going to be at Sandton City, and the both of us being avid followers of the series decided to walk all the way to Sandton City to see it. I loved our walks, as we always chatted about a lot of shit, good and bad, and even some wild imagination stuff. Always made us not realise how far we had to walk, something we did a lot of as Mom had the car, and if we wanted to go anywhere, we either walked or rode. But we didn't take the bicycles this day, because where could we safely leave them.
Anyway we got to Sandton City and there was a bit of queue already where one could pose and take pics. Turned out the "Iron Throne" was all plastic. .... They didn't allow us to pose with the swords (Drat) but we did have a very sexy young lady that posed with us. My son was in "teenage" heaven, and I told him to ask for her number, and he should never be shy, well turned out the young lass already had a boyfriend (double drat). But never the less, he enjoyed himself, and we had another long walk back home.
I really miss our long walks and talks my boy, I really miss you.
JD Koekemoer Riding the Spruit. April 15, 2016

Maybe someone will recognise this from the Spruit. I took one look at it and my brain said "absolutely no way could my front wheel hit that lip and still go over". Well my son would always be the one to show Dad how it was done, and he made me so proud. I remember when we first started riding together, I would always be, "come on boy, hurry up, keep up". Wasn't long, and he would be saying those same words to me. He got fit very fast, and he was never scared to try all the scary stuff, and after he did it, I would do it. Then again there are still some stuff I'm a bit wary of trying. Especially now, because now I ride alone again, and I miss my boy being with me.
